Built a custom inventory management and booking platform for an industrial welding equipment rental company, enabling real-time equipment availability tracking, automated scheduling, and integrated payment processing. The Challenge

The primary challenge was handling complex booking logic with overlapping rental periods, maintenance windows, and equipment return grace periods. We implemented a robust calendar system with buffer times and automated conflict detection. Another hurdle was migrating their existing Excel-based inventory records into a relational database structure while maintaining historical rental data. We created custom CSV import tools and data validation scripts to ensure clean migration without disrupting ongoing operations.

Our Approach

We designed a dual-interface system: a customer-facing booking portal and an admin dashboard for equipment management. The booking system features a visual calendar showing real-time availability across their fleet of welders, plasma cutters, and safety equipment. Customers can reserve equipment, process deposits through Stripe, and receive automated confirmation emails with pickup instructions. The admin dashboard provides comprehensive oversight of all rentals, maintenance schedules, and revenue analytics with customizable date ranges and equipment-specific reporting.
